Jamie Oliver's Italian, Liverpool

Posted by Elainehall1 on July 3, 2012 at 6:45 AM

Saturday saw our first trip to Jamie's restaurant in Liverpool, Jamie is not the chef there, but inspires the food. We booked, but waiting time was only about 20 mins. I can't say it was a cheap meal, as such, but you get what you pay for. Trevor had Italian nachos as a starter; it was three cheese ravioli, deep fried and served with a salsa - we're going to have a go at making these ourselves at some point. I'm a sucker for bread, olive oil and balsamic; it was possibly the best bread selection I have ever had, ranging from a kind of popadom to foccatcha! We both opted for a wild rabbit pasta dish, which was very nice indeed, although far to much for my belly!! Trevor managed a pudding, a lemon tarte, got to say our lemon curd is far more zingy! We found the drinks expensive, £16 for a bottle of organic house wine, but if you sign up to the website they sometimes send you offers (we had a free glass of Prosecco with a main course) and I always ask for a glass of tap water. All in all, yes we would go again; maybe try the one in Manchester.
